During the contest we will have a guest lecture by Dr. Evangelos Karfopoulos.

Dr. Evangelos Karfopoulos received the Diploma in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the NTUA in 2006. He received the PhD degree for his research on the “Optimal Management of Electric Vehicles for their efficient and effective integration into electricity networks” (NTUA, 2017).

From 2008-2019, he worked as senior researcher at ICCS in the e-mobility area and distributed optimization under the supervision of Prof. N. Hatziargyriou. He has actively participated in several European projects, undertaking the role of Technical/project Coordinator in many of them (ex. MERGE, FastInCharge, COTEVOS, SHAR-Q, NEMO, FABRIC, eCharge4Drivers, Battery2Life, eBRT2023) and national projects. Moreover, he was external consultant of the HEDNO for e-mobility aspects (2016-2019) performing steady state and dynamic grid impact analysis of e-mobility, developing the technical specifications for public charging stations as well as an OCPP 1.6 compliant EVSE platform. Moreover, he served as external consultant for PPC (July 2021-May 2022) for the development of a sizing and feasibility analysis tool for hybrid RES/storage systems in non-interconnected islands (NESOI). Additionally, he served as external consultant for OECD and the Greek Ministry of Infrastructure and Transportation analysing the grid impact of the charging demand in TEN-T corridors based on the AFIR requirements. Furthermore, he served as Senior Researcher at Intracom-Telecom focusing on distributed energy flexibility markets.
Currently, he is serving as Scientific Project Manager at i-SENSE research group, ICCS/NTUA working on e-mobility research projects and 2nd-life battery applications.
He is research leader in 2ZeroEgvia for pillar 2 “The integration of BEV into the energy system and related charging infrastructures”.
He served as a tutor in (Asymmetric) Power System Analysis courses in ECE-NTUA.
He has published a number of articles in scientific journals and conferences on the e-mobility sector with more than 1000 citations.

We close the event by a free drink. Everyone is welcome to come and watch.
